Grad School is making me insane. I have a paper due on Monday and I don't think I can do it. It's an historical/legal research paper where I supposed to find case law about different aspects of the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act. I'm expected to interpret the over-arching implications of various cases involved with these aspects

you should look in to the the IDEA laws. they should mention the cases that made them come to be so that you can research them.

unfortunately, this will affect your classroom as many of the students with disabilities fall through the cracks and end up in you classroom. this kind of knowledge should push you to think about the bigger picture, which every teacher needs to have. i can see where you would like to focus on strategies, but th foundation is also important.

as a sidenote, i think that this paper should have been presented to you with more clarity, so i can totally understand your frustration.

I appreciate the guidance. Other than IDEA, which laws would those be so I can look them up? The specific aspect that I'm looking into is the Least Restrictive Environment.

It sounds like this might not be the right program for you. Maybe you'd be a better fit in a program that does focus more on practical information.
