About a month ago, I was in the process of buying a house in Dunmurry. I'd looked at the house, put an offer on (for £1,500 above the asking price), gone through Co-Ownership to get funding, then applied for a mortgage, and then, on the very same day that I got confirmation that the Mortgage had been approved, this happened.

Yay!

Just to say that property things don't always go badly, or slowly.

I waited six months on a chain to try to buy a two bedroom house, and then an estate agent showed my a lovely 3-bed, which was more expensive. So the next day I put in an offer, put in a second (slightly higher) offer, had it accepted, phoned the mortgage people and said "I need an extra £15k" and they put me on hold, and came back and said "that's not a problem", and had their surveyor around within a couple of days to confirm the value of the property. I had my solicitors start the land registry searches, and had them back within 48 hours ... and four weeks later I was moving into *my* house! Still there in fact ... :-)

Good luck, and yes, sometimes these things happen to stop you buying the wrong place and give you a better one!

I know, but sometimes I wish they'd introduce themselves as such first, rather than giving the impression that they're here to dump on your head from upon a great height.

Fingers crossed. Was meant to hear back from the financial advisor guy today, but nothing as yet, which I suppose isn't too bad as it means at least nothing has come crashing down on the deal.
Yet. ;)

It's not bad. Apart from the wallpaper, which will have to go. ;)
