My romanised name is Ooi Phaik Chern (in the Hokkien dialect). In Mandarin, it's pronounced 'Huang Bi-juan' and in Cantonese, 'Wong Bik-gyun'. All in all, it's down to the Chinese characters.

黃 huáng | wong (yellow, a surname)
碧 bì | bik (jade; green jade ; green, blue)
娟 juān | gyun (beautiful, graceful)

I agree! I'm just starting out on exploring all these; I never did when I was younger, preferring to only stick to English as a means of communication. >

That's really interesting about your name/s! How do you get Cara? Oh to be bi-lingual and clever like yourself :D

Hahaha, thanks! :) It's all just really one name, 黃碧娟 which is pronounced differently by different people who speak different dialects of the Chinese language. The only thing was how the bì came about, hahaha. xD

Cara came from my internet username; caramelapples. ;)

Oh, I can't read/write Chinese, I was/am English educated. :( I can only understand it verbally. But I'm picking it up slowly though, when I have the time. :D

Thanks! *hugs* :)

At least I know that she's not suffering since she's really quite as carefree as a child. xD I prefer that to an awful disease.

Well, I've learned something today :-) How interesting :-) You, stubborn... really? ::evil grin::

It's so sad about your grandmother but at least she not in pain, and I guess is happy enough in her own little world?

Cute photo - glad that worked out, with the girls coming to visit :-)

So, now you are about to start another semester, are you going to be in your room on campus from now on, or are you still in your old room for a time yet? If memory serves, I am sure you will be in your new abode about now. If so, what's it's like? From the photo of the campus, I would guess, really, really nice :-)

............ I said I would comment on your tumblr from time to time. Congrats on your first gif; I remember how happy I was when I made my first one :-)
Love that photo of Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner sipping their drinks, but my fav pic so far is one you re-blogged, the then and now pics - those gorgeous women from the 50's compared with the skinny 'stars' of today; very telling!

LOL. I am. *sighs* :P

Yes, a bit sad, but again, it's better that than to be suffering from a painful disease.

I've shifted to Lakeside, sharing a room with Caryn! :D It's pretty awesome, modern furnishings and stuff. :D I'll take pictures soon, once everything' settled down. :D

Hahaha, I love the feeling of accomplishment (I always do). :D I shall make more soon, when I find time! XD Or when I can't sleep lol.
