you are very right that a real man is not afraid to ask for help, so props to you for putting this out there. First of all I want you to know that I'm praying for you on this, cuz it's a tough situation. If she asks you out let her know that it makes you uncomfortable to date someone who was just dating your best friend, especially so soon after they broke up (provided that's the case). Hopefully your friend will see your response and know that you really are his friend. It sounds like he's pretty unwilling to face the facts about why they may have really broken up, so pray for him that God will give him insight in this situation, however painful for him it might be. As Reggie Dabbs says, "The truth shall make you mad. And then it will set you free." As far as your friend goes, it sounds like there will be no convincing him until his anger subsides, because he's not listening to reason. So pray for him until then, and hopefully you can restore the friendship when he sees you not dating his ex.
