If I could offer any criticisms, I would have to say that the lattice-top looks a touch under-baked. That could be something to do with the lighting though. Did you egg wash the top?

I do say though, that crust looks flaky as a motherfucker.

It could very well be. My oven has been baking hot lately and I was paranoid about burning something again. (Have you ever scarped off the outter layers of a chocolate cake?) I mean it wasn't under baked, as in raw but it could maybe have baked a few more minutes. I did egg wash it though, went to the store in my pajamas that morning to get the eggs lol.

Also, the crust is the Tenderflake recipe. Serious no fail there, perfectly flaky every time!

oh me too. There are few things that calm me out like getting deep into baking. It can be actually quite spiritual as well.
