Who are these strange relationship people? these people who cannot be whole in and of themselves, who are not happy unless they are with another person? Who are these weak minded idiots? Why does so much of life have to do with mating? can't a person be fully self reliant? It seems like a lot of women I know aren't. They don't have their own ( Read more... )

These are people who remind us why we think. Why we fight for our individual thoughts. (if i can spell the word!) The same people who do the mindless things we would never want to do because it doesn't suit us. I do have to say i disagree with the music thing....I appreacte all styles of music. Because I was trained to listen, I want to hear people singing, or instrumental music that moves to another plain. Its why i dislike most music on the top 40. It feels all mechaincal. Sometime there is something that will catch my attention. I guess what I'm trying to say if you want to catagorise these people by how they explain music you might want to clairfy for the non music lovers ;)

Well, I think that individualism doesn't exist really, as most people see it. On a basic genetic level, we are all different from each other, but when it comes to personality, though there are thousands of variations, roughly people tend to be similar to each other. And if a person is more similar to another than different, I would say that based on that, they are similar. As far as music goes, I mainly used that as an example to show one of the similar traits I have run across...and I have lived almost everywhere in America...this is widespread. Certainly it isn't everyone, but it seems like it is quite a lot when it comes to punks, and goths mainly.

and on another note, the top forty and underground music is no less diluted in my opinion. Just because it is in the top forty, does not mean it is less heartfelt or deep than a song that is indie. This is another trait the young kids have...not liking mainstream music because if they like something unique, it helps make them feel more unique.

unfortunately i was one of those people before...and during a fight i had with the person a friend of mine told me something i've taken with me ever since and it's helped me stay true to myself and be happy no matter if I'm single or with someone and it's just helped me be myself... "never rely on a single person as your total source of happiness because if you are to loose that person then what's left? you will have no happiness left and you are bound to become completely depressed on your own." it makes sense really, when someone decides that the only time they're happy is when they're with a certain person, then they are giving all that they are to that person and other things that once made them happy might not make them as happy, if happy at all anymore. people are foolish and normally the only way for them to learn this lesson is to learn it for themselves...

I think at one point everyone suffered that dilemna. It is not good to depend upon others for happiness, because in the end you're never going to be happy. besides, there is no happiness that can be obtained from outside things. There are fleeting bits of happiness, but never anything real that lasts...except if you are happy inside. Jut being alive, should be something to be happy about.

Yeah, I am judgemental. There's nothing wrong with being judgemental, as long as the judgements are sound. Anyway, what business is it of yours?
