Thanks for posting this! I have been thinking about selling on Ebay and am interested in what more experienced sellers have to say about it.

You are welcome! I hope it is of some help to you. These "rules" are what I wrote just for myself, other artists have their own rules to live by.

The main point is that there are some artists who are having great success selling on ebay, but there are also artists who have totally quit selling art on ebay due to lack of sales. I fall somewhere in between....I haven't had great success, but I haven't given up, either. I just make it work for me based on the above philosophy.

I enjoyed reading this Caren, and I agree with alot of it. It's almost the opposite of what the srtists in the art group I belong to on ebay ,(artistpreneurs) but I don't agree with most of what they tell you to do. They are successful though, some of them making over $200K a year. But those are the ones who just churn out painting after painting of stuff they do expressly for ebay..like a painting a day! I could never do that, I don't think. But I have a supportive husband, in many ways, and a lot of them do not, so they need to support themselves with their artwork. I've been selling other stuff on ebay lately, and it's pretty busy. I know a lot of artists gave up there last year, but I'm gonna try and list some artwork soon, and see how it does. :)jani
