She is pretty cool Caren! I think it's neat to do something totally out of our own style. What a good idea to do with those little mannequins...I have one but I never use it. :)
There's a whole art doll thing going on out there. There is even a magazine called "Art Doll Quarterly". I would have never known about art dolls if it wasn't for my bead store owner, she knows just about everything going on in the craft world.
I know!there are so many crafts within other crafts, like all the things under scrapbooking, like altered books, paper-making, all that eyelet stuff, beautiful papers,... I love beads and bead stores. The only problem is that I never make anything much out of them. I have tons of beads, (and other art supplies!) now just sitting around. Last year my sis-in-law and I took a beading class on making a small beaded bag necklace. They turned out so nice.
I love beads, too. It's a relatively new thing for me, I only started beading five years ago. When I travel, I always stop at bead stores, it's like a treasure hunt. I started taking beading classes this past winter to use up some of the beads I have, but as it turned out, the class supply lists just caused me to buy more beads. At least beads are small, they don't take up much room compared to other art supplies.
