Crazy week & crazy baby

It's been a stressful week, although exciting and ripe with interesting learning experiences. I've had to go into the office every morning at 8 or 8:30 to attend my training classes. Mostly we watch these DVD's that talk about generating a client database. That's where I have a problem, as I don't yet have many business relationships. Most people ( Read more... )

"Most people know me as Carly the cinema employee or Carly the highschool student, so I also somehow need to become Carly the real estate agent in most people's minds."

Well you have business cards now right? Anytime someone reconizes you as a cinema employee, "Hey, don't I know you from the cinema?" politly correct them and introduce the new you and pass them a card if you don't think that's too cheesey. That would really only work for regular cinema customers. If you run into an old teacher or old classmate (they should be getting old enough to start thinking about buying or looking for a house, right?) pass them a card. You also may want to give your friends and family a small stack of cards just in case they run into or happen to know someone you don't who's house hunting.

I know everyone who reads your LJ now knows what you do, but I would say make it a point to let everyone you've ever known now know what you do.

Yeah, belive me, I am working on that. We are learning in our training class a bunch of ways to announce our affiliation with Re/max. It's really all about getting everyone you know to refer you to everyone they know. That way you are not stuck doing cold calls or approaching complete strangers. I really hope that all my friends and family will be of great aid in spreading the word about me and my new venture.

By the way, would you mind if I added your address to my database? I'm privy to alot of cool information that I get from the company and I will also be handing out goodies from time to time, so I could send it along your way or even stop by some time so you can meet Carter. Sound ok?

I've had people at both of my Kalamazoo jobs recognize me from the Cinema (Miller and Crossroads). And then when I was student teaching people recognized me from there too! I just joked that either they were at the Cinema too much, or I was.
