Because I'm bored, I've decided to create my own meme.

Reply with your favorite (or not) icon I've made and I'll tell you a little about WHY I made it and the process that went into making it (not a tutorial but an interesting story about the process - if there is one).

Oooh. That one gave me so much trouble!

Deciding to make the icon black & white with the umbrella in red was an automatic decision since it stood out so much in the scene.

But the text! I agonized over the text for SO long. I couldn't think of anything I liked and to this day, I still don't like the text on it. Seeing it now makes want to open up Paint Shop and erase that word! It sounds so cheesy ...

There are certain poses and shots of the Winchesters/actors that I love - too many to mention really.

So, I will go with the (fun) facts about the Winchesters - the icons without pictures, just humorous 'facts'. Did the facts just pop out of thin air? I love them!

(I don't remember if any were yours, but I remember seeing some fact icons that put a spin on the Chuck Norris facts.)

You know some of them did but because I'm very left brained, I have to do everything with a "process". The two fact sets I've done were for John & Sam.

So I made a list of the personality traits that were very unique to their characters and worked from that. For example, "John's need to control everything". So I thought, what would be any extreme example of this? What if he controlled the very law of physics? And I came up with "The sun doesn't set without asking premission from John Winchester. Same goes for the leaves changing colors."

That's pretty much what I did. Some times one thing led to another and I came up with stuff I didn't even have on my list.

I've never done Dean's because so many people have come up with stuff that's way funnier than anything I could. Plus, it was the surplus of Dean "facts" that made me want to create some for John & Sam in the first place.

But who knows. I may get bored some day :D

You know, that one still makes me laugh! The look on Jared's face is just like that of a five year old telling on his brother. That's what inspired me to make it in the first place. As soon as I saw the look on his face, I remembered my childhood fights with my brother. And of course in Jared's place, I just had to substitute in Jensen and instant comedy!

The biggest problem that occurred while I was making it was the cropping. Jared's arm is so freaking long that I couldn't crop it in a square. So I just made the width 100 and filled in the empty space by pasting the same image except in black & white.

Normal! His fangirl-ing over Alec was so hilarious!! But that's a whole other topic...

I know I made this as a request but I don't remember who for. And this was back when I was in my unique cropping phase so that's why the cropping is different. But like always, I hate it when my icons are unbalanced so I added a repeat of the image to the left side and the requested text above it. I didn't have to do much with the contrast since it was already bright but I did enhance the colors on the wall behind him so they stuck out more.

That is one of my personal favorites! It's actually cropped from a header but I did move the gun & bullets around to fit into the icon.

God, that scene killed me! The whole ending so over-powered everything else that had happened that I couldn't make icons of anything else. Luckily, I found a nice stock picture of a silver gun & some bullets which I used to create my own gun & bullets brushes.

Also, I originally had Sam in color but with the grim atmosphere of the icon, black & white just seemed to fit better in the end.
