Thanks for the idea and the subtle push to do it. I would have never attempted anything this large otherwise or in full-colour. It was an interesting yet difficult experience, but I must admit I feel more satisfied upon completion of this piece then any other I've created this year...hell... in a long time. There is a general sense of pride.

That makes me like it even more. Having an artist like their own work seems to be a rare thing.

I'm also very glad you played up the lettering. Are any of them based off grunge fonts or just what popped into your head?

You say there is more?

For the most part the text is something I had in mind while doing the packaging and the ink panels you've seen previously. It was then a case of searching through website after website of 'horror' fonts trying to find the ones that best match what I was seeing to work from.

There is more. Come mid-April duckieflesheaters.etsy.com will be launched, showcasing (and selling) my 110 edition of duckie flesheaters complete with stickers, magnets and other goodies, each in their own numbered box. As well as accessories (limited edition run of 3 toxic waste barrels), 2 supersize duckie flesheaters, a run of 7 t-shirts and 2 copies of my "How to Survive Your Initial Transformation Into A Duckie Flesheater" guide.
Probably print sets of the panels as well.

Haha! Full marketing and sales! Who knew.

I'm looking forward to seeing the poster in person - we'll have to arrange something in the near future. We'll chat on that.

If you'd like to see it in person, it would have to be the near future. ;) I leave Montreal April 24th. If I head to Ottawa for a few days after I'm finished final crits, exams, etc. I'll let you know and perhaps arrange to take it with me.

Somewhere down the line they became a product and thus it became part of the project. Every time I created an extension of the duckie flesheaters some one requested something else, so it's just continued to grow and grow and grow. I've always wanted my own zombie army to take over the world... I just never imagined it would be in duck format.

That could work. Its my old-day coming up shortly and sometimes we take a trip to MTL. If we do we'll make sure to contact you.

Otherwise you bringing it down would be grand.

Ducks are awesome.

It's actually smaller then the original suggestion awhile back, "Some 160lb stock at 48x120in" It had to be true to the movie poster size. ;) It's roughly the same size as some my old movie posters, the kind that were often pasted to the outside of the theater or just within the front entrance by the ticket booths. It's also the reason it took me so long to complete.

But if you'd like something similar (but smaller) say 120 x 48 CMS, I still have some more of the same 250 lbs stonehenge from the roll and ink left, so it is doable before I leave the country.I can probably have it finished by the 19th of April, it would be about $400. It won't have the same impact but I'm pretty confident in drawing the duckies now.

I'm looking at the tape measure rolled out on the floor and I'm adjusting in my head what kind of place I would need to fit it - thats all.

Its just sad that it might have to be put away for awhile - was rather looking forward to having it up around my Bday. Self-present n'all.

The only way I want you to make another is if you think it will be better. As in, if you learned something you really want to impart. You seemed very happy with this version and I like that - feeling complete with ones work gives it a sense of finality and I don't want to ruin that.

I'm just contemplating new ways to work with it, thats all. I wonder - drum scan and print for outdoor weather - then set it up on the side of a house? Hmm.

I still can't wait to see it.

At this point I can't say it would necessarily be better. It's not that I think I can't improve upon it, but sometimes it's just important to let things happen. I wouldn't worry about ruining the sense of finality for the project (at least for me anyway) since I doubt I'll feel like the duckie flesheaters are finished in any way, just different extensions reaching their limits for the time being. I'm still very happy with it. It's massive and I'm amazed at myself for being able to accomplish something like it. I almost believe they're real... in the sense that's I haven't created a 'mock' something... if that makes any sense whatsoever.

If you'd like this one though, despite it's size, I can arrange to be in Ottawa with poster in hand and meet up with you at some point on Monday April 21rst in order to view it and discuss it's possible sale. Should you decide it's too large but would still like something similar, let me know and we'll see what I can come up with. I'm happy to keep working with my army.

When is your Bday?
