So when I pulled into my neighborhood after work, there was this truck coming towards me. He was going really slow, but he was coming right at me, and he turned on these white strobe lights on his headlights and dashboard. I stopped and rolled the window down, and he asked if I lived in this neighborhood. I said yes, and this is sort of how the ( Read more... )

Bob is probably right. I doubt you have to worry about yourself or your personal property. My first thought was that the car could be up for repossession and the address that was given on the original deal was bogus.

That is the exact thing that our neighbor said! Repo makes total sense. Our neighbor said that's why he kept stressing how obvious the car is, and that I would have noticed it if I had seen it. Y'all are so smart! :)

Yep. It was the way he kept stressing yellow Hummer that made me think it was a possible repo.
What Bob mentioned also makes sense though. If he was a private investigator, he's going to do two things, pump you for information and keep restating a specific item to get you to focus on that. That way you aren't focusing on him or his vehicle should you be friends with the people he's trying to track down.

At any rate, I'll cross my fingers that you don't see any yellow Hummers in your neighborhood! :-)

That's too funny re: repo. My niece's friend drives a tow for a repo co. I LOVE when he's hanging out making calls. His new favorite way to catch younger drivers? MySpace!

Well, the criminal attorney that I am, I always think the worst... but it is probably nothing. I would, however, keep an eye out for the guy in your neighborhood and if you see him or his vehicle again, I would call the cops to just check it out. Even repo men should not be acting that mysterious and weird.
