I'm trying to post every day. I have nothing to say, but why should that stop me?

I went across the street to Starbucks just now to get some mediocre espresso and there was a large group of fresh-faced students standing outside the building. They're walking around inside now throwing around words like 'facade', and I can only assume that they're taking an Architecture course on how not to build a building, because this is about ( Read more... )

I'm looking out my window and looking at blowing snow and feeling the minus 26 C weather. This weather is condusive to nothing but crawling back into bed and hibernating until spring.

It was 70 degrees here this morning. They say we will get snow tonight. The weather here is crazy. Still, I don't envy you those temperatures. Stay inside!

Southern Illinois weather is crazy, too. It was warm enough to run around without a coat this morning and now it's spitting snow.

And to top it all off, my car is in the shop (recall notice and it didn't want to start which they say is a bad sensor that now won't read whatever that means! I'm not a car person obviously) and my mother's front heat and defroster went out in hers tonight.

Sorry to hijack your post!

It is POURING down rain here today and quite dark. I would very much like to be in bed. Instead I am (sort of*) working on the trim and watching LOTR (because it has been all over my dash lately)

*in between trolling Tumblr which is the story of my life these days.

Painting on wet days never works that well anyway. Best excuse to skip it.

Sorry about your tumblr addiction. It's my fault, and I'm not there much anymore because a) work is RIDICULOUS and b) I'm trying to spend more time being productive in all aspects of my life. Mixed results so far.

What sort of music makes you think of the desert? (Of course "heat wave" is now playing in my head. tnx4thatbtw) I do agree that music shapes moods and sets the stage for what's comeing.

Tell us something about the book?

Someone asked about my mix over at DW too so I should probably just post it. It's a combination of songs that make me think of summer and songs that make me think of the desert and songs that work for the story itself. Maybe I'll post a little excerpt with it. Something to do tonight if I have a little time after work.

The desert in the summer -- sounds like my worse nightmare, but great setting for a story. :D

I look forward to seeing your mix. We talked about music at my (new) library writing group last week. I was thinking of having them make a writing mix as an assignment.
