Fic: At the Hour Of Death 9/15 (CSI, Nick/Greg, NC17)

Apr 04, 2004 14:37

Utility chapters are the bane of my existence. But I'm closer to finished than I was before, and that's always a good thing.

In which Nick doesn't want to believe what the evidence is telling him. )

fic: csi, series: hour of death, csi, fic

I don't write casefic as a general rule because it takes so much more work than just getting them naked. But every once in awhile even smut gets boring, so I'm glad to hear I'm living up to the challenge of plot so far.

Am I allowed to play arm chair detective? I think this mysterious girl did it because of family related money things, or Nick did it and has blacked out the whole thing! I'm so weird I just concocted a serial killer Nick theory in my head, I've had way to much coffee.

I love this story so much the blend of pre-slash and crime is wonderful, and more Nick than you can shake a stick at which is also enjoyable because I feel on the show they don't use Nick enough. (I'm an One True Nick girl - got to have my Nick!)
and your original characters are believable, with all the problems and desires of real people which makes them more real to me.
On an unrelated note: come on Brass its 2004! people are gay, get over it!
I cannot wait for the next chapter! will there be Greg in the next episode? will there be kissing?

Of course.

I'm so weird I just concocted a serial killer Nick theory in my head

Shh! Don't give away the big plot twist!

(I'm an One True Nick girl - got to have my Nick!)

Me too, me too. I'm not so much into guys as a general rule, but for Nick I would make a lot of exceptions.

come on Brass its 2004! people are gay, get over it!

Sadly, it's canonical. In last week's episode he displayed this very attitude. It was subtle, but it was there. He's from Jersey, though, and I have family from there who are far more bigoted, so it's not really very surprising.

will there be Greg in the next episode?

Yes.

will there be kissing?

Heh. What do you think?

I would definitely kiss Nick so he's very high up in my books.

I think your going to torture me some more, thats what I think.

Heh. Nick is so going to catch it for not telling Greg about the interview. Oh, Nick. You're so clueless, I wonder how you'll ever get laid again.

Only six parts left? Le sigh. I love case fic, and I love this story; hope you try it again, because you're really rather fab at plot, even if you don't think so sometimes :)

0.o I still have six more parts to write??

Seriously, though, thank you. I'm very relieved to hear that you're enjoying this for the case-centricness. I really don't feel confident in my plotting abilities, which is the whole reason I decided to write this thing in the first place, so it's possible I'll attempt it again. Sometime. Far in the future.

I really hope Nick catches the real killer. I don't think Brett did it either. And I want to smack Brass, and I really like Brass. I hate it when people you like are homophobic.

And Greg is so going to kill Nick.

*settles back to wait for the next part*

Brass is, sadly, that way in canon. But I still love him because a) he's from Jersey, so he's a hometown boy (sort of), and b) he's the kind of guy who, if he knew Nick was gay, would not be a big jerk about it. He'd be weirded out, yes, but he'd try to understand and he wouldn't let it hurt their working relationship.

But then, I probably think of Brass as Nick's mentor far more than I should, just because I love their dynamic.

Brass would definitely try to understand. I think he's fond of Nick, perhaps because Nick was once a cop himself. I mean, he calls Nick "Nicky"...or at least he used to. But then he's called Warrick "Rick" before, so maybe he just likes nicknames.

And, yeah, they have a great dynamic.

Lovely! I love the case aspect of it, though smut is always good, too. I think you're doing a great job with the case. It's all very intriguing. I'm betting the girl was his long-lost sister and uh, the yelling was about the money?

Anyway. Loved the kid, loved Brass. You've got him perfectly, right down to the homophobia. Nick being all sympathetic toward the poor kid was wonderful!

Oh, and Nick's gonna get an ass-whooping when Greg finds out. Should be fun. Fabulous chapter!

Is that a hint? Heh. Seriously, though, I'm glad you're enjoying the case, because obviously I worry. And I'm glad Brass rang true for you. I love that guy, latent homophobic tendencies and all.

Heh. Or an anvil. Subtle, huh?

Not that I mean to influence you at all as I am completely enjoying this story as it is. Especially Brass. I dunno, Jack's homophobia rubs me the wrong way. But Brass? It's just kinda endearing. Can't explain it, but I like him.

I think it's because with Brass it's just sort of an ingrained knee-jerk reaction, and we know if he really had to deal with it he'd try to be sensitive. Jack seems to take a rather gleeful pleasure in being as offensive as possible, regardless of who's there to witness it. Also, he's a total bastard, and Brass is cool.
