Fic: Things Unseen (The Faculty, Casey/Zeke, R)

Dec 19, 2004 19:36

The inspiration for this fic hit me on the way home. Cue me, on a dark, windy road, trying to jot down the first paragraph on the back of my pay stub envelope without killing myself or anyone else. The things I do to hold onto a really good line. I need some fictional characters with better timing. And I have no appropriate icon for this post ( Read more... )

Awkward teenage fumbling is my favorite thing ever. Ever. Although it's not hard to tell that when you look at my body of work. Thanks.

Thanks. Sorry your day sucked. Your icon is awesome, though.

I, too, am a big fan of the coming in the pants thing. Hott. With two t's. I also enjoyed seeing a non-broken Casey. I mean, I love a broken Casey, don't get me wrong. But the angst on the broken Casey front has been bad for my seasonal depression, so this was perfect timing. I missed my boys.

This is only the second time I've ever written these two, and the first time was unrequited. I never really saw Zeke as slashy until today as I was leaving work, and all of a sudden he's all, "Hell yeah, I'd do Casey, and I'll tell you why." So I wrote it down. I'm really glad you enjoyed; thanks.

I don't really see broken Casey at the end of the movie. At the beginning, sure, but by the end he's overcome that and in my idealistic world he manages to retain that after life goes back to normal But that's probably not realistic so it's kind of nice to imagine Zeke sticking up for him ; )

I never really saw Zeke as slashy...

That's probably why Casey is usually the "aggressor" in these fics. And I put aggressor in quoteys because I'm using it in the loosest of all possible interpretations. More like he starts giving Zeke the eye on a regular basis which makes Zeke feel funny in his pants. Love how in this fic teh sex pretty much all Zeke's idea.

And I don't think Casey's broken at the end of the movie. In the broken Casey epics I follow there are extenuating circumstances which happen to work really well with what we already know from the movie. Otherwise I'd never buy into it.

As for Zeke sticking up for Casey, he'd better...or else he has me to answer to.

Just so you know, I squealed a squeal of gladness when I discovered you were the same Caroline who had all the brilliant Forsaken slash over on the RSA. I'd been a fan of yours for years and didn't even realize it. :)

Fandom is a really small world. I don't write as much Forsaken slash as I used to, but I still love that universe.

I can see why people would make Casey broken, I just kind of like the idea of him carrying forward with the inner strength he discovered during the film. It's the idealist in me. But I love your description of the usual Zeke/Casey dynamic. Heh. I might write a little more in this universe if I find the time.

Much love for this fic and The Faculty. It's funny cause just the other day I watched that movie at my friend's birthday party. It was all I could do not to scream out all the slashy bits to my friends. And I tried to get them to stop the movie before that terrible terrible ending randomly stuck on there. Okay, rambling on here. Point: loved the fic.

Thanks, glad you liked. Funnily enough, the pairing that always jumps out at me when I watch this movie is Delilah/Stokely, which is why I usually stick to femmeslash in this fandom. But this was a fun experiment.

Okay, I am pretty sure we had this discussion before, but Elijah Woods was my first crush, when I was like 8. He really is like a weird obsession, I don't even think I have a crush on him really, it is just this weird childhood thing... My neurosis aside, this made me squee and mmm at the same time. Seriously, agreeance with others about the coming in the pants thing. So... Yum. Yea, I really am coherent, aren't I? :)

I understand the weird childhood things, honest. That's the whole reason I watched Suicide Kings in the first place, because of Henry Thomas. I had no idea he was going to be all inexplicably slashy with Jay Mohr.

Anyway, thanks, glad you liked. Awkward teenage sex is my big kink, obviously.
