Icon ficlets: CSI, Suicide Kings, Doogie Howser, M.D.

I was feeling kind of woe-is-me last night, but then I went to my sister's house and both her kids climbed up onto my lap for unsolicited snuggles and that made me feel a lot better. Then we drank wine and watched Hot Fuzz on my sister's big screen, which is actually the first time I'd ever seen it outside of my iPod, so that was awesome too.

1. Oh my goodness. Doogie Howser! I used to love him so...and this is just as charming as the original. I felt for poor Vinnie in his puke/angst fest. And how nice that his truest friends were so supportive. Now I need to find the DVD's! How evil of you.

2. Don't know Suiside Kings...but I love Deadliest Catch. I enjoyed the fic but of course it raises more questions...so I'll move on for now. The icon always reminded me of Christian Slater. Who is it?

3. I can well imagine Greg could come up with a lot of things that Nick can do right! Nggh all over again! I love your "voice" for them...and I know I've said it before but it doesn't make it less true...you are the master in this pairing. The absolute master. Thanks for a wonderful little snippet in time.

Doogie! I loved him a lot too. I guess I only saw the first two seasons, because I went to college in 1990 and stopped watching TV altogether after t hat. But it was fun to revisit, and now I'm rewatching season one, so I'm suffering with you, if that helps.

Ha! Henry Thomas does kind of have Christian Slate hair in that icon. I never thought about it before. That's little Elliot from E.T., all growed up.

I hope it's okay that I substituted the arms icon. I was kind of stumped with the Nick icon you actually requested, so I took you at your word when you said 'whichever'. I figured as long as it was Nick and Greg, you wouldn't care :)

Well, the truth is that I downloaded season one last night and watched the first seven episodes this morning before I wrote this. So it's not quite as magical as it may seem at first ;)

Anyway, I am VERY happy that you enjoyed it! I have to tell you that it was So FUN to write, so thank you for requesting it, even though I had a little panic attack at first.

Also: icon love! NPH is the best person ever.

Well, it's not bad for a nearly 15-ish year gap in active watching, then! I have all the episodes on DVD, and I'm somewhere near the end of the second season. I've been taking a break from my Doogie Howser-thon, but I'm bringing them upstairs for a marathon tonight. I'm inspired to finish now!

I'm really glad you enjoyed writing it (even though you freaked at first). I'm so happy that somebody wrote Doogie Howser fic. You seriously have no idea. *glomps*

Heh. I did peek at the Pit and saw that there was some Vinnie/Mary Sue fic there. Shocking, I tell you ;)

I am going to have to rewatch all the episodes now. Especially since I believe that I started college midway through season two, so I never actually saw the last half of the series. TV wasn't a big priority for me during undergrad. Hard to believe that now.
