Tonight I hurried home at the end of the work day and my parents, sister, and I went to see the new Star Trek movie. My mother has always been a Trek fan and so my sister and I were often watching it (in some form or another) while growing up. I just finished reading Cassandra Clare's City of Glass, the final book in the Mortal Instruments series. I enjoyed the series quite a bit. Is it my favorite YA fantasy series? No, but I think I like it better than Twilight or the Wicked books that I wrote about not long ago ( Read more... )

Last night I came up to G-ville to spend some time with my sister and to go see a Beatles cover band, the Shoddy Beatles. The cover band isn't the type to dress as the Beatles, but they do play their songs excellently -- it's the closest we'll ever get to hearing the Beatles live. I had a great time rocking out.
