Just so you know, I did my homework (meaning I created a playlist with all of those songs in it in order to set the scene while I read this - truly a tremendous idea, I recommend it highly to my fellow readers.) Also, like most things, goes well with wine. ;)

Side note: Slizzard is a damned excellent term. And this fic highlights the severe lack of Castle and Beckett grinding on the dancefloor in the actual show. So, in short, thank you for bringing that image into my life.

OH MY GOD what would I do if there was dance floor grinding on the actual show. I would DIE.

I am glad so many people have the same guilty pleasures (ridiculous club music and also alcohol) as I. I try to use the word slizzard at least once a day to bring a little fun into my life, but mostly all I get is weird looks.

Thank you!!! I had no idea people would be so tickled by my ridiculousness, but I really think that this story is proof that I need to write while drunk all the time.

Okay, first...not only does this scream SEQUEL!!!, it also screams PREQUEL.
(Please?)

Bullet points 'cause, well just because:

- Ryan's timeline, lol.
- Castle/Beckett banter, always. You do it so well.
- characterization!!!
- drunk/sad Beckett is hot
- Lanie. love her
- Castle staring at Beckett's cleavage. (because really, who wouldn't?)
- Castle groping Beckett's (absolutely amazing) ass. Guh.

I loved this para (among all the others):

When she looks at him her eyes are dark, and he imagines that within them he can see the lust and the sorrow and the almost unimaginable guilt, along with the spark of drunken, reckless abandon that has her acting like a twenty-year-old. The lust he can take, along with the inebriation, but the sorrow and the guilt he has a bit more trouble digesting. "It can't have been -" he starts, trying to tell her that of all the things he's sure of, the first is that she shouldn't be blaming herself for the death of a six-year old.

Oh GOD. I am trying to work on a sequel right now but of course I am also writing another Castle story and I have, like, I don't know, real life that swings around sometimes, so, um, yeah. At least the thought is there?
