i don't want to wake up; you can't let go of me yet.

A part of me doesn't want to finish Traces, because no longer knowing that it's there to be finished will see me having to write something else, and I don't think anything could quite live up to it from my perspective as its author. I've never enjoyed writing a fic more. Going back to non-AU fic will feel like a step backwards in terms of ( Read more... )

"a massive fucking hurrah to celebrate my survival of this uselessly time-consuming and spirit-sapping degree."

CONGRATS ON GRADUATING! {: God I just started Uni and I'm starting to get all jaded and angry about how useless I think my course is! Haha. Oh well, three more years for me! (I refuse to do honours- REFUSE!)

Fingers crossed on your job-hunt! ♥

Thank you, love! ♥

I'm sorry to hear that you're getting a bit disillusioned by your degree. What are you studying?
Ha, I was going to do honours but it got to July this year and I was like 'oh, fuck it' because I couldn't quite handle one more year of this useless degree!

Oh, you know. Literature. -scoffs-

What can I say? I was young, idealistic, I'd thought we'd just sit around and adore words all day.

Alas- tis not to be!

Ahh. I have to say, I sometimes wish I'd taken up a few literature subjects at uni. It was the only subject I really enjoyed at school.

Thank you!

I know I probably will end up in a nine-to-five job, realistically, and I'm not trying to fight against it. I just literally cannot picture it, that's all.

Oh, a sequel? I think I've covered every single plotline in this fic alone! I'd love to write another, but I have no clue where the ideas would come from!

Congrats on graduation! I have approximately 6 more weeks to go. Although I can tell you that as boring as the work world sounds it is nice to leave work at work (if you don't have one of those all-consuming careers as I seem to like) and it's nice to have more money than you need as opposed to student life. I worked for many years before going back and now I'm so impatient with student life ( ... )

Thank you. :) I am rather looking forward to being done with student life, though I have actually applied for law school, so, uhm, we'll see how long that freedom lasts.

What sort of all-consuming career has claimed you?

What you said from a reader's perspective is exactly how I feel about writing fic after Traces. I've found the pinnacle of enjoyment and I want all fic to be that much fun to write from now on. Thanks for having faith in me, and for your blush-inducing praise of that world cup story. I do desperately want to prove you right!

Have you ever written football fic?

My student life has prevented a sooner reply. Sigh. And law school! Well, that would certainly be taking it up a notch. I don't think I could do that, honestly, I can barely do my own grad program FT and work PT and I had some friends in law school that I haven't heard from much until they passed the bar ( ... )

This reply is a week late, and I'm so sorry for that. But thank you so much for filling me in. It's remarkable how little we can know about our f-listers. I find you absolutely fascinating.

I would probably find it immensely difficult to write a screenplay or a play. I rely so much on inner monologues and omniscient narrators.
