You'll notice that they are trimmed in bias tape.  Lots and lots of bias tape.  On my pattern even the pockets are trimmed in bias tape.

I don't like applying bias tape.  It never goes well.

It's only going to get worse.  They still have to pull out all the roots along with the stump, which will odds on mean taking out the grass and the rest of the landscaping.  And then they're going to paint and fix some of the windows....

Hooo boy.

It had to be done, it will be good in the end I think.  But I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I will get off this topic eventually, I promise.

Turns out those were Bradford Pear trees, which were within 5 years of the end of their natural lifespan, and were at the point where a good storm could have taken them down and into the windows.
