to various political campaigns, it's getting close to the point beyond which donations won't make much, if any, difference. A girl at my school called Barack Obama a "baby killing fascist." I called her a dumb bitch. I feel that my statement was the truer of the two.

The emails coming from barackobama.com have changed from "please donate" to "please call some voters in swing states" (and moveon.org has echoed that call for... well, calls) More money may not help much, but it looks like there are other ways to help.

Speaking of filibusters, I think the threat of filibuster makes senators cave too easily. I think if someone wants to filibuster something, let them, and make sure media coverage is all over it. *Make* them actually follow through with the threat. Some filibusters have been for good causes, and could actually benefit from extra media coverage, but good or bad, they should all get plenty of coverage. You want to go all Mr. Smith on Washington, bring it, and we'll see who's still getting phone calls of support in the morning. That's my opinion :)

Point out that since she didn't have a legitimate choice in whether to have sex, she at least deserves a choice as to whether to be forced into giving birth. Also point out that a foetus does not develop anything resembling consciousness until five months into a pregnancy, so there's no "experience" to cut off. It's like lamenting over the fate of unfertilised eggs or wasted sperm; there's no more loss of conscious life with an early pregnancy than there is in those cases.
