Fic: "Ruse de Guerre" (Norrington/Sparrow, PG-13)

Yeah, I wrote Sparrington. It's true. And I'm writing more.

Don't follow the cut unless you enjoy piratical gayness )

I know, I am the worst replier ever. :( But I'm so glad you're writing this, I've been looking for good Pirates fic for two weeks!

Hahah, I know. I've been going on a Sparrington rampage the past few weeks. You're not a bad replier, I was just surprised to see you comment on a fic because I haven't written in a fandom you read for what seems like a very long time.

That was great! I miss the tension there was between the two in the first movie that I didn't feel in DMC.

It's good to have that back even for a short while. Thankee.

Hahah. It's all about the rhythm, man. It's been a while since I've heard from you, and now here you come, saying such nice, shiny things. Yay.

Yes!

This fits the movie extremely well. Good on you for churning out something that doesn't contradict anything that happened in the movie.

I love Treacherous!James. Thank you very much for sharing this.

You did a great job with catching Jack's voice!

Very nice twist that James is willing to use sex in order to steal from Jack. I also appreciate that Jack isn't overcome by a realisation of loving James; for him, sex is something you can use to forget unpleasant realities.
Despite this, there's more going on between them...

I really hope you write more Sparrington in the future.

Thank you! One of my goals in this was to sort of look at those romantic notions about Sparrington--and wave at them as they pass by, so to speak. I wanted to keep it, ultimately, as unsentimental as possible, and I see Jack as a sort of romantic, but also as an opportunist. I'm happy that worked.

And as for more Sparrington, well, I'm certainly trying.

Gorgeous, this--everything I love about both Jack and Norrington (or at least DMC Norrington), all compiled into one fic full of gorgeous, naturally in-character lines. ^_____^
