Adjustments required
Everytime I think that things might maybe calm down something pops up. Yesterday one of the dogs (the accident/illness prone one) had a seizure. Pup is fine and it's not a real concern until a pattern develops but it is just OneMoreThing. It seems that my personal life is just as high stress as my professional at this point. Trial run
Overall I like to think that I have generally avoided most desk related issues. No real trouble with carpal tunnel, vision is more or less stabilized, and no shoulder issues. That being said I do have occasional lower back issues and there is lots of research out there that says sitting 8+ hours a day is bad for you in all kinds of ways ( Read more... ) -

I just got back from DealGym today. 'Professional' is the vibe I got from them. Definitely a bit more of a old-jock vibe to the place. They highlighted that they do CrossFit competitions where as the OtherGym does not. They do not accept children/teens and had a much younger cliental then the other gym. There happened to be a fantastic LivingSocial deal on a local CrossFit gym that came across my desk today. I set off the draft of my second chapter to my university co-authors, in what (I hope) is a more or less complete form. I'm sure there will be some major revisions since one of the senior co-authors tends to throw curve balls, but for the moment I have a chance to catch my breath in this mad dash to the finish line. Shoot for the stars and hit the moon
So I did not make the 50K word goal this month. I'm jumping off at 37K. Noble first attempt and the story line is worth working over later I think. I'm not quite at the end of things but I know where it's going and have things more or less fleshed out in my head. I'll say a good first attempt given everything going on.
