So you took in a severely neglected stray that turned out to be pregnant. You now have five adorable kittens that need to be given away. In what manner do you do so

I'm not going to keep them long enough to alter them, just long enough to give them their first shots. I believe it's only $20 or something like that. I think that's reasonable since they would have to get them their shots anyway.
I might still only charge half of that. I just need something to offset the cost and to show the adopters aren't creepy assholes who go on craig's list to look for kittens to drown for fun or anything.
When my family took in a stray who turned out to be pregnant, we got her a kitty abortion. (Conveniently, they also spayed her at the same time.)
I'd probably start trying to find homes for them early, and hopefully have homes lined up by the time they needed shots so the new owners could pay for them. Otherwise, I'd probably pay for them and continue looking for (good) homes. I'd give them to the Humane Society as a last resort, if I couldn't find anything. I don't think I can have five extra cats in my apartment.
Haha. Yeah, I really don't want to have seven cats. I'm too young to be the crazy cat lady. Although, there is one kitten that is special needs, and there is no possible way I could give it to some stranger not knowing whether s/he would be properly cared for.
Yep, my mother adopted a stray female cat that turned out to be pregnant... they found out when Mom took her in to be spayed and they just... did it anyway. We don't know how far along she was, but it wasn't enough to really show.
I think I'd go to TSC and get kitten vaccines and do it myself. It's a lot cheeaper that way, lol. And so easy!
I'd vaccinate them first. If the person taking the kitten doesn't want to even spend that money in the first place, I'd strongly doubt that they plan to get the cat routine veterinary care down the road, either, so I wouldn't want to pass the animal along to them.
I'd contact the rescue where I got my cats. They work with a vet that will vax and alter them free of charge, and I can foster them while the rescue finds homes and handles the adoption contract and fees.

I would then charge an adoption fee but I'm sure it would still be less than what the vaxes/sputers costed.
