PILOT WATCH 2009so I have decided that I am going to not only list, but write a little review on all of the pilots I am fortunate enough to get to have this year

This ... is Caprica. This is something every Battlestar fan has been waiting for and entirely worth the wait in my opinion. The origin story of our beloved Battlestar Galactica, and it does not disappoint. The casting is phenomenal, and really, do you even have to ask when Eric Stoltz is attached? This is Caprica, but granted, this is not Battlestar Galactica. Nothing will ever be BSG again, but this comes damn close, doesn't it? I loved getting to really see Caprica as a thriving planet, and while I miss seeing the people I know and love, I love knowing what comes, and getting to experience the journey of getting there. I cried, I laughed, and I am already so attached. I think Caprica will be an absolutely amazing ride.
Now, I had completely forgotten that V was a remake of an old series, until both of my sisters went apeshit crazy excited about it. They literally went off on a five minute tangent about the old show and I was like ....kay. Elizabeth Mitchell. is. incredible. I absolutely love her, and I'd pretty much watch anything for her. Then you add in Scott Wolf, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin, and Joel Gretsch? Oh, you had me at invasion. Not knowing anything about the original, I think really made me enjoy the pilot more because I didn't know what to expect. SO MUCH happens in the first episode, you really can't even blink. The whole cast is incredible, and the intrigue is even better. Also? The boy who plays Elizabeth's character's son? Um, adorable. It's a show that really made me wonder what would happen if we had such a seemingly "peaceful" invasion of other life forms. I mean, it's not something I think about ever, really. And why does Laura Vandervoort always play an Alien? Okay not always, but Smallville, then this? WHEELHOUSE, darling.

Oh, this one owned me as soon as Mark Valley appeared. How much do I love him? A lot. A lot a lot. Then you add in a dose of Jackie Earle Haley, Chi McBride ... and oh yes, the fabulous Tricia Helfer! She better be back, is all I really have to say to that. This show is so much fun, it's got a great dose of wit, a lot of humor, and a ton of action. It's a smart show, which is pretty incredible for Fox. Oh, ouch. I know. Pretty much, this show has it all, and I'm really hopeful it will go. It's got great potential for longevity, and a show that gives a lot of fun in with the action. I love the trio of boys, and holy crap you put Jackie in there? He's amazing. I kind of find it hard to write a review that isn't just OMFG TRICIA AND MARK AND AMAZING, but I am trying. Tricia is amazing in the pilot, and Fox really needs to just give her her own frakking show. The end.

Alright, here it is folks. My show! I was terrified that I wouldn't really like it, or something like that, I don't know. It's SO GOOD though, holy crap. The casting for the brothers is incredible. Stefan has that amazing brooding thing that reminds me so much of Angel. Oh yes, that one. Now all these little bitches griping that it is some rip off of Twilight? Stfu, right now. A) the series was written WAY before Twilight, and B) it's a lot better. Ian Somerhaulder is an incredible choice for Damon, and he's got that evil snark down so so well. I was very skeptical about whatever changes that they made from the book, but really? I didn't mind a one of them. They have great special effects (the "vampire" face is AWESOME) and the changes they made to the story really fit better for television. It really felt like it was a caliber above the CW, and one that will catch on like wildfire, really. It has a Supernatural feel to it, and almost like a ... Gossip Girl type thread through it. Which seems odd to say, but it just has that kind of "

Oh I hope this okay to post here. *coughs* Anyway. I will be watching this show. For two reasons. A) You're involved and I love you dearly and b) VAMPIRE DIARIES FTW! Dude I read these books back..in high school *fangirl squeel* I am impressed with the choices for the brothers and I agree on the people griping it's a twilight rip off.
Do your research people. Seriously. If anything and they wanna say that, then Twilight is a rip off of V.D
ABC has really had a ... swing and a miss habit with comedy. They pick up stupid shows (ahem, Cavemen) and burn off good shows so they get cancelled (ahem, Miss Guided). Modern Family is hilarious. The stories all connect of this one family, but you get the POV from the siblings and the dad. It's really really funny, and I was genuinely laughing my ass off at a few moments (when the dad "accidentally" shoots his son with a plastic BB gun, when that was what he was chickening out on doing in the first place) and yet it was really heartfelt. The darling little step son who writes poetry for the 16 year old girl he's in love with? Adorably funny. And really, Julie. Freaking. Bowen. Sold. I absolutely love her, and the casting has some hysterically funny people in it. I'm actually excited for a comedy show on ABC! What the hell!
