I'm sure our hosts are pleased to know that.

[They were fishing for people to fight for them, after all.]

I'm a mechanic mainly. I've been working on an airship for the last seven years, four of which I've been in charge of operations.

[Meth sees your Spartan pride and with Aspurran pride and raises you a promotion mention.]

[Their hosts can blow it out their ass as far as she's concerned. Still, given that the walls are like to have ears in this place, she keeps that bit to herself. Insubordination is like a fine wine: you only bust it out when it's going to be worth it!]

What's the technology of your home like, if I may ask?

What kind of combat methodology?

catherine_b320 January 11 2011, 17:25:26 UTC
The useful kind.

In this place... I expect anything that falls under the category of 'prolonging your life in a fight' will suffice.

Guess that applies to me, then.

[Though he's no soldier, that's for sure. Like that seems to matter, judging from all the kids he's seen hanging around.]

You never did answer my question.

[You know. About fighting for these people. No, Kevas, there is no end to her curiosity. None. Ever. She is a black hole of it.]

[Jack proceeds to rattle off his credentials, including studying with Robin Hood and other warriors from all over the world and ends with...]

Oh and I am able to jump real good.

[There is a slight pause, and then...]

Charming.

And what do they call you?

[Zhaneel had been pretty much silent to this point, figuring out how the strange thing attached to her forefoot (that'd be her communicator) worked as well as getting herself settled into her given 'home'.

She has, however, been listening to anything she can over it and scouting the area. No, that bandage really hadn't stayed over her injured eye terribly long, but then she'd wanted to scout as quickly as possible and having no depth perception made for poor flight.

She really didn't like trees enough to smash into them without warning, you know?

So, have another unidentified reply to your transmission, Noble Two.]

I am sparse with hand to talon combat, but can defend myself readily enough on the ground. I suppose it's rather rudimentary compared to many of the humanoids, but it gets the job done.

[It's rather like watching a lion tear into something, really. Raina had taken her by surprise and she'd been uncertain as to wtf had been going on. Otherwise, shit would have been ON ( ... )

[Excuse her, most of the things she knows that can fly under their own power want her dead.]

... And what are you, exactly?

bondedgryphon January 11 2011, 19:04:57 UTC
[Zhaneel would certainly excuse the doubt. She's got more than her fair share of aerial born enemies that would make her just as cautious with someone she hasn't met face to face.

Even so, the poor gryphon has concern for how this will be taken. After all, that whole not seeing face to face thing can lead to things ending rather poorly for someone.]

A gryphon. [It is stated rather simply, but there is no denying the pride behind her words.] I would be willing to wager that you have not encountered my kind before. I seem rather the odd bird out ..

[She knows the word. It's a heraldic symbol, in use for millennia on Earth. A myth. Like dragons.]

You'd need not wager. I can safely say you're correct.

... Are you -

[Tame? Religious? Asking if she's Covenant would be a little too obvious, even for someone who lacks certain subtleties.]

- capable of working with humans?
