Uhhh... that Wikipedia article was talking about nothing but the Red Terror.

The Red Terror occured before and during the Spanish Civil War. The White Terror came after the war, when Franco's military dictatorship and Falangist (Spanish Fascist-style poitical party) allies exacted revenge by killing or imprisoning leftists (mostly Marxists). My point is that Franco's White Terror didn't occur in a vacuum or a fit of pique.
