I am going to Paris soon, thing is I am scared how I will cope with my eating. How will I manage? I am also worried about fatigue. Will my husband have a good time even though I still need to be in bed by 8pm. It is 10 years since my hubby and I had our first date so it is a special time.

Well, that was a waste of time, I did really badly. I am living proof that chemo brain exists. How am I going to manage in work in 2 weeks time? I get the results of my CT scan today. Normally I would go to bed after my husband goes to work but I am too worked up today. I know that the chances of the beast returning YET are very small but it still scares me. My CT scan has been delayed AGAIN. I was supposed to have it last Friday but they had to check my kidney function (which was fine). Now it is delayed until Tuesday. It is six months since I had the life changing surgery of having my oesophagus removed due to having oesophageal cancer. It feels as if it has happened years ago. I have debated long and hard about the value of the surgery, but in the end of the day I was a stage 3 cancer patient and waiting for the BEAST to come back would not have been much fun ( Read more... )

It has been a long time since I have been online - thankfully I am in a lot less pain now though I still get my moments. I am still very fatigued but have joined a gym. I know that I should be happy, I am very lucky to be alive. I am just finding the pain of recovering from my surgery extreme - the nerves are growing back and they REALLY hurt and no painkiller will sort the pain out, I am in EXTREME agony. Well, I got through it, had a really tough time after the surgery and nearly died (well, technically I did die, my heart stopped twice), but am fine now, if a bit tired and sore still. I got kidney failure and pneumonia after the op but am fine now - the biopsy could find no trace of cancer. Now I just have to wait the two years to get the all ( Read more... )
