You know you've been away a long time when you realize your avatar is a five-year-old photo. Rachel is officially the age Ethan is in that photo.
It's funny how everything is the same and yet so different. The most important part is all is good. I'm happy and healthy, the kids and hubby are happy and healthy.

I've joined the Greensboro Running Club, and the Women's only running group. We started yesterday with an assessment - run a mile, log where you first ran, and then total time to finish a mile. We are training for the Women's Only race in October ( Read more... )

I ran in another 5K on Saturday - I had my best time yet at 35:36 (previous 5K was 37:30). I didn't feel like I did well and had to walk a few times, but only for a short distance.

My goals are to keep up with the shorter distances - 5K and less -- and work on speed. I'm such a slowpoke.

Weight is about the same, but I can tell I'm losing

I DID IT!!! I ran 6.2 miles in the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC. I ran it in 1:16:50, which beats my previous 6 mile time by seven minutes. I'm so extremely proud of myself, and excited. I'm running in my very-first 10K on Saturday in Charleston. It's the Cooper River Bridge Run -- I'm so excited and nervous. There will be 38,000 other runners running, so it will be really chaotic. I've learned more about bacteria in the past three weeks than I ever thought possible. What is scary is this is only the tip of the iceberg. I will build myself a bubble in outer mongolia and stay there, forever.

I ran the 5K in 37 min, 59 sec., and finished in 402 out of 440.

Didn't exactly tear up that race course, but I finished, and finished under 40 min., which is what I was hoping for. It's my best time for a 5K by far.

I think I want to do it again, but my body is saying noooo....
