Am I the only one who thought that 'miniseries' was two words not one? Or at least a hyphenated word? LOL!

Happy birthday to portiareigns too. :-)

ps. What is Hyannisport anyway???

*replies to self after Googling* ... oh, Hyannis Port/Hyannisport! Kennedy territory. I get it. Seems to be written both ways ... I wonder why?

I dunno. I'm confusing myself the more I look at the word(s)!

I have always seen it as one word over here but what do I know being a Brit. Old Teddy seems to be being lionised everywhere which is fine as long as you can forget poor old Mary Jo and supporting the IRA!

I've lived in Massachusetts my whole life and I've been to Hyannisport twice (albeit a very long time ago) - I had always understood it to be one word.

Until now.

One local news station displays it as two words while two other stations display it as one.

Our twenty-something year-old Rand McNally U.S. atlas says "Hyannis Port", but there's also a "W. Hyannisport" next door.

Uhhh...maybe one version is an older spelling but both are still acceptable?

Well really, probably two words is more technically correct, as I assume it is a port called Hyannis. Confusing!

I'm pretty sure it is one word.

At least, that's how it is written on my birth announcement in the local paper. But maybe it has changed over the last eon or two.

At least these towns are real places! Where I live there is an odd tradition of referring to the larger region as "Hampton Roads" which does not exist on any map now or in the past. It confuses the tourists a lot. I've always thought it was dumb myself! I'm guessing no one reading this has ever heard of "Hampton Roads". ( Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach and Hampton, Virginia, USA)
