woke to my phone around 6am. didnt make it in time, but as i was checking, got a text from nick:
Queen&Bathurst on fire. might have to evacuate my building.

checked phone messages, and it was her saying, uh, so theyre evacuating my building, i guess im coming over...

yeah, shes here. she came when she had to leave her building. we might go for a beer soon.

but we have to wait for squeee to finish her nap in nicks parka :P

damn! I don't understand which house she lives in (the one that's getting water? the space to its right that is a pile of flames? or one of the ones to the right of that which are just nervously awaiting their fate?). but I hope she is OK and that her apartment is as OK as possible...

no, her place didnt burn. it sounds like the fire stopped a few doors east of the big bop, which is a big purple event venue on the corner. her building is just south of that. so she was worried if it took out the venue, hers would be next, as they are linked by a few walkways.

i was trying to post the picture with a fire truck in the alley between her building and the big bop, but it wasnt showing up, so the sentence links to the pic instead. theres pics of trucks all around her building but its hard to describe if you dont know the city.

i think her apt is ok, probly a lot of smoke in the area, and there are still trucks hosing the basements and stuff. its all covered with ice. its a major street, so its gonna be a mess for a while.
