That was so funny - who writes like that! (Well me - and everyone else in my classes - when I was earning my masters' degree. but I really dislike academic writing. I think it's meant to be opaque so academics can feel even smarter than they are knowing that the average joe won't - maybe can't - understand their writing. But that may be an uncharitable interpretation)
