Overworked and NSF
Found out today that I put in 25 extra hours for my internship than I was supposed to. I knew that I wouldn't get paid for all the hours I put in. I just assumed it was no big deal and they just wouldn't pay me for the extra hours - those would just be "volunteer" hours. But I guess it's a lot more complicated than that. TGen symposium
Had my closing TGen symposium last Friday. I was selected to be one of the oral presenters for Neurogenomics, which is an honor, but also stress-inducing. I don't struggle nearly as much giving talks at school, probably because I tend to understand what I'm talking about at school a lot better, and for things I don't get, I can normally look them ( Read more... ) -
Good weekend: SRT, GRE, MIM, fooood
This weekend was quite satisfying. Greg flew in Thursday night and we went out for Ethiopian food, which was delicious. I haven't had Ethiopian food in so long because it would appear most of the Ethiopian restaurants in LA are in...well, downtown LA...so they're quite a drive ( Read more... ) -

solidworks
I managed to draw my clinic team's two design alternatives in solidworks! It was super exciting, and they look so good! (maybe just because I drew them). But it's so cool that I can use Solidworks decently well! -
Getting busy - as should be expected
This semester was going so well, but suddenly got really busy! Well, it's less bad since I took two midterms today, although I'm wondering if taking both midterms today was such a good idea. Chem lab dyslexia
I spent 4 hours today in lab using alanine instead of aniline for the whole procedure. Awesome. I would have been in great shape for finishing my synthesis if I did everything correctly. I'm still in good shape, but this was kind of unfortunate. On the bright side, I'll have an entertaining story to tell when I present my results! -

This year has been pretty good so far! I'm trying to see how much longer I can keep it up, as tests start rolling next week. But so far, I've been average between 6-8 hours of sleep every night, and still able to practice about an hour of violin everyday. It's exciting. I've been going to bikram once a week so far. Why do I cry so much?
It's so annoying. When I get upset, I feel the tears come to my eyes, but nothing I try to do holds them back. Ants
There are ants in the kitchen! Well, leo and I Raided most of them. It's hard to tell what exactly is attracting them. Some trickled into the pantry, but most of them just congregated near the window and next to the sink. They weren't going for the dirty dishes, so it makes no sense.
