Spent this morning making phonecalls to various people sorting financial bits and pieces out. Getting more comfortable with the whole house-buying thing now its had time to sink in, but still woke up last night about 5am with the "oh god, what have I done" feeling

I am excited for you! At the same time, don't rush!! This is a major investment and commitment for you two. Make sure it is the right house. I think NZ is a buyer's market as it is in the US right now. In case things don't work out, there are many other houses. Take your time and be sure.
