I am v impressed that you tried to get anywhere by public transport in a month in which snow had fallen somewhere. I abandoned all hope days ago and have just been walking everywhere.

Alas, I could not walk to Yorkshire! My original plan was to drive there, but the roads were icy and my car was kaputt anyway, so trains were my only option. Walking is a good idea when you can avoid slipping on your arse!

Good to hear from you. :)

Let me take the opportunity to announce that I still have your latest e-mail in my inbox, waiting for me to respond to it. It might take a while (yes, even longer), since I am caught in just-before-exam studying. Sorry.

That's OK. I figured that you were in the midst of exam-build up, so I am cutting you slack :P Respond at your leisure!

Also, I had no idea that "finieren" wasn't a verb in German. Boy, I sure avoided some embarrassment there!

You are most gracious.

What about "finieren"? Where did it come up? Ich stehe gerade auf'm Schlauch.

I thought it meant "to finish" but it turns out to mean...nothing at all. I have been believing this fallacy for years! It didn't come up anywhere, it was just part of the corpus of knowledge until recently!

Tell no-one.

Santa is threatening to move to England if this weather keeps up.

Good riddance I say.
