I have hit a glass ceiling in my life, and I think it has something to do with being a woman.
It's not the kind of glass ceiling where the people around me are being promoted before me despite my hard work and eligibility, though that may be a slice of it.

I'm going to NJ tonight to surprise my mom for Thanksgiving, but Mother Nature decided that Thanksgiving week would be a great time to send a wintry storm up the east coast. Rusty driver
I've gotten two tickets in the past WEEK. One for a parking violation, which, really, was dumb. I got it because my car was over the white line in the spot, but the only reason I was over the white line was because the guy next to me was over the white line because the guy next to him was over the line. Friends. An abundance of yummy, healthy, homemade food spread across the table. Sitting around a table in the backyard. Laughter. Stories. Beer. Dessert. Watching the stars come out. Candlelight.

Magpie
I saw two magpies on my way home from Denver on the bus today. One was in a tree as the bus was about to get back on the highway. Another was on a fence as the bus was driving down the highway. Not sure why I noticed them, but the black body with a white belly is quite striking ( Read more... ) -
