Matt wants to see Role Models because he really likes the direct, even though it looks like the dumbest movie ever. I'd rather see Quantum of Solace because I love James Bond and movies with explosions. Though having to get off my butt and drive to the movie theater? Means we haven't seen anything since moving. I can guarantee we won't shell out money for Twilight though.

Our cable here sucks compared to New York. I had to sign up for Netflix, though I do now have Battlestar Galactica season 2.

I love movies with explosions, too! Let's meet in Kansas and go see QofS. You bring the rum and I'll buy the popcorn. There's no way in hell I'm shelling out the money for Twilight. Mr. Cedar saw the trailer and he was like, "Please don't make me go see that." I said, "Sweetie, because I love you, I will not make you go see it."

Netflix always sounds cool but I'm on a personal moratorium for new TV shows until 2010.

When I saw the nominees, I knew immediately that What I Saw and How I Lied was by far the weakest of the bunch, and I'm stunned that it was honored over the wonderful Chains and The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks.

Ugh. I loved Disreputable History and am looking forward to getting Chains at our library. I haven't read What I Saw, but the reviews I've seen have been mostly mediocre.

I thought the book was pretty mediocre. Interesting concept and a fantastic cover, but it was creepy in some really bad ways. On the bright side, you will LOVE Chains. Such a great book, and a strong Newbery contender.

Quantum of Solace is an excellent cure for many ills. Bond might not fix the lungs, but it will cure the soul.

The only awesome thing coming out of sparkly vampire movie?
Vampire Prom!

Man I wish I had something to wear.

There is nothing in this world that cannot be cured by Daniel Craig taking his shirt off. Nothing.

A lot of libraries do Twilight Proms, which I think is pretty cool because I'm always up for an excuse to dress up. Also, I think anyone getting excited over a book is cool. But still. Sparkly vampires? No.

Did you see the South Park episode "Ungroundable?" (If not you can watch the whole online here.) Hi-larious hijinks involving glitter and Butters and Hot Topic.

I love the idea of the Twilight Proms, as a fun book related event. Alas that it springs from sparkle land.

Ooh, I have Chains in my reading pile and I keep meaning to put a hold on Disreputable History. I shall now look forward to them even more.

And I can't remember if you like Star Trek, but Quantum of Solace had preview for the upcoming film. (I was really excited.)

And may your body eradicate your cold as well as James Bond does to most villains.

I'm a die-hard Next Gen fan, but I'm not against the idea of seeing the new movie, either. Yay, preview.

If only my cold were so attractive shirtless. Alas.

Get better soon! And I totally agree with you about Analeigh, 'Twilight' and James Bond!
