I was rescuing misplaced baby frogs out of the pool at my mom's apartment complex a couple of days ago (while my kiddo was swimming in the pool). I believe I picked up at least six or seven of them and returned them to the bushes nearby. :-)
Oh yes... my daughter has a pool, and she said that there are frogs in there every single morning when they go out to swim. And her pool is enclosed! I bet there would be even more if it were out in the open.
And... as luck would have it... she has an abnormal (IMO) aversion to frogs! LOL!
hey we're looking into a job offer in Florida! Is it nice there? I'm a 5th generation Oregonian so anyplace else seems sooo scary to me. But I do have a very solid understanding of rain. hehehe.
We don't have alligators, but someone trapped a caiman(sp?) in my town a couple weeks ago. lol.
Some parts of Florida are nicer than others. I imagine it would be a HUGE adjustment for someone who is accustomed to Oregon weather. My husband grew up in northern Indiana, but he LOVES the Florida heat. He tolerates it better than I do, and he has only lived here for 8 years!
We get more sunshine than rain, but it isn't atypical for it to rain every day here in the summer. It's usually nice in the morning and rains about 2-3 PM... IF we're having a rainy summer. Unfortunately, it's also not atypical for us to experience terrible droughts in Florida.
My yard is loving this rain, though... everything is so so green and lush.
hmm yeah I do love greenery. And I actually like rain most of the time. I'm definately not used to the hot weather though. Also, we don't have many bugs here and if Florida is anything like Texas..I'm screwed. >.< LOL
One thing that sucks about Oregon is honestly, a lot of the people. hehehe. I'm hoping wherever we end up that the people will be friendly. If most Floridians (is that what they call them) are like you, it would be nice. Oregonians are also horrid drivers. But not me of course. heheh.

Um... well... the mosquito is the State Bird, if that tells you anything. ;-) We do have a lot of bugs, but I never really thought much about it until I started hanging out with people who haven't lived here their entire lives. I've been in Florida for 33 years, but I lived in every state from Louisiana to South Carolina before that... and all of them have plenty of bugs (and heat, for that matter). OTOH, even the cheapest hovel here will probably have central AC. We just don't go outside if it's deathly hot... except to go to the beach or to a pool or lake... somewhere where we can get WET to cool off! :-)

HAHAHA omg that link is toooo funny. The Californians who live here HATE Oregonian drivers because they are idiots. You have no idea how many people I've seen turn left on a red or blow through stop signs, go the wrong way on a one way..etc. But I know the real reason Oregon scores so high on the written test. It's because my 4 year old could probably pass it with flying colors. *snort* When I took it, it was about 20 questions long and the driving test was going around the block once. DIdn't even have to hit a highway or drive in any kind of traffic. LOL.
Hmm so it sounds like Florida is full of friendly idiots? You know, the more I go through life, the more I understand the phrase "the world is full of idiots.." There just seems no way to avoid them. But Oregon has mean idiots. lol.

Friendly... yeah, our idiots are generally pretty friendly. LOL!
