I'm taking a break from reviewing books and everything YA related.

It used to make me so happy and now I'm just angry all the time. I'm sick of seeing friends and fellow reviewers be smeared and bullied by anonymous cowards playing the victim card as they post personal details online and claim to be the good guys. I'm sick of people claiming I'm a ( Read more... )

I didn't even know Beautiful Disaster existed. I came onto twitter for something else and found what you said. I looked up the book and I can't believe this is even allowed to be published.

New hobbies: I recommend beadwork. It's easier than it looks, fascinating and very relaxing.

I am really, really sorry to hear this! I'm giving a paper on Friday citing your work on YA paranormal romances. What you've done has been a huge benefit to many other people, I'm sure, only you're hearing from the jerks instead of the appreciators. That sucks.

Plus you have been dead right about so damned much.

You just completed a major milestone and you've made some valuable contributions (for free, I might add), and if anyone deserves a vacation from bullcrap, it's you.

Let's see--something totally unrelated--what about dancing? Vintage dancing is my favorite. The historial element is cool, and it's good exercise, too.

I do think that your contributions have been worthwhile, but yeah, you gotta take some time out for yourself and do you. I'd say take up either crochet or knitting. You get to play with string, and get some cool stuff out of it, like hats or granny squares.

Or, you could take up dancing, or just yoga.

Not even gonna lie, the hogwartsishome community is so much fun. I did an HP comm back in like 2007 and it wasn't fun because of drama with the headmistress, but this community is HUGE. There is so much cool stuff to do. I can't speak for the experiences in the other houses, but Hufflepuff is great craic and everyone is kind. There are club activities of all kinds and people get to talking about anything--maybe you can find a smaller, kinder audience to keep discussing problematic fiction there!

Just if you apply to be sorted there, make sure you mention my username so I get some points 8D

Hobby ideas:

knitting
aikido (great exercise + some perspective on the psychology of conflict that may help you deal with trolls)
kendo (exercise + get your aggressive ya-ya's out)
watercolor painting (local junior colleges usually have classes or you can learn from a book)
learn to play a musical instrument
