Best TV theme song.

Got a First Aid training course tomorrow and Sunday. Should be interesting. Gonna get squicked at least once, I know it. Oh well, I'm ready for it, I can handle this crap.

The Simpsons
There's a blurb by the series composer in the liner notes to the cd "Songs in the key of Springfield" where he talks about how all the TV shows at the time had schmaltzy singing and synthesizer themesongs (like Growing Pains or Family Ties). Matt Groenig came to him with a stack of tapes including the soundtrack to "Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World", old Hanna Barbera cartoons, Chuck Jones Cartoons, and ad-jingles from the 60's and said "Give me something like this!"

I agree with above user. The Simpson's theme kicks mucho ass. Although for best theme song I would have to say that my personal favorite is an extremely deadlocked tie between the original seaQuest DSV theme and the original Mission Impossible opening number. Mission Impossible's theme really sets the number for the show, and is a great catchy tune in its own right, but seaQuest DSV's tune just makes me feel like I'm 7 again, and that the world is simple nad makes sense.

Worst theme would definatly have to be the Captain Planet themesong. That goddamn show raped my childhood.
