the newest radiohead record is fantastic.  That is what hours of work at my computer have taught me.  Also if had gotten the download to work, I would have underpayed, even by my standards

And THAT is one of the central questions, hey? I bet it's an interesting question.

My take: I don't know that I can imagine a society without prostitution, but in the kind of world with prostitution that I'd like to live in, there would be equal numbers of men and women employed as sex workers, they would be safe, they would be respected, and they would keep all of their own earnings.

I read this very interesting collection of essays both for and against the legalization of prostitution and there were two against prostitution that were very interesting to me (these are pretty basic summaries their arguments are more in depth). the first discusses how prostitution is inherently ownership of another person and that it is this control that makes the prostitution, that attracts customers. They think that it is the control that makes prostitution appealing and as such, it perpetuates of male domination, and the subjugation of women. The second article talked about how women in our society are divided into the prostitute/slut and then everybody else. Women attempt to seperate themselves from the prostitute by defining themselves in opposition, when really the oppression of prostitutes is the oppression of all women, and so women need to join with prostitutes who are their sisters. I certainly think there are alot of good reasons for prostitution to be legalized, but it would certainly need to be a different kind of
