This is great. Meg is such a lovely person, and I loved her being kind to Logan, and him wanting no one to know about it. You packed a lot into a short fic and I like how restrained this is, but how much you manage to touch on. Awesome job.

Thank you! It was really tempting to go into the whole shared history of child abuse thing, but I decided it would have been too overwrought, so I'm glad you liked it this way.

I have to admit, I don't often read gen fic. I have a fairly narrow focus of reading my ship fic, but since you wrote this, I had to give it a shot.

I love that Logan and Meg hung out and as a result, she was saved from the bus crash. IMO, Meg was screwed over as much as anyone else and she had such a tragic end. It's nice to read an AU where she survives and forms a friendship with Logan.

Well done, as usual. Any chance we might see a sequel to this? I would love to see where this goes next.

I always thought Logan and Meg needed to hang out, since they had their abusive childhoods in common. Meg is a typical oldest child of an abusive family (the overachiever, tries to be extra-good all the time) and Logan is the typical second child, like Lizzie Manning (acting out at home and school). Plus, she could get Logan to shape up and maybe he'd get her to loosen up a little.

I'm still thinking about continuing, but I can't figure out where to go with it yet. (Really, my brain kept going to Logan and Meg hooking up, but that wasn't the prompt!) I might get Meg involved in the Jessie Doyle case with Veronica, but I'll have to see if I can work out the details.

Great fic. As dipenates points out, this is lovely in its restraint. I'm always a sucker for people being nice to Logan. I'd love more of this fic but nothing to interfere with LV, please!

I'm a sucker for that too, especially in s2 when his life was so incredibly awful. And it made sense to me that Meg would give him a fair shake, since she was one of the few who didn't turn against Veronica in s1.

If I can come up with more story, I will write it! :)

Aww, hon, this is cute, and poignant, mixed with the right amount of humor that the show had.

The ending is a great one--especially after all that went on with Logan and Meg that one day.

I was trying to come up with a way for Meg to get them together again that hadn't already been done--I myself have written a few fics with V&L getting back together in s2, so the challenge is to come up with something new. But if I do, I will write it!

Thanks for the prompt. I had a little plot bunny about Logan persuading Meg not to go on the field trip, but your prompt got me to actually write it down. :)
