Fiction prompts!

That's right, I'm talking original fiction, not fanfic. I want to start writing some original stuff again, but my brain is just not working that way. Anyone have any ideas to help me kickstart? Throw out anything--I just need to start writing some ficlets and get into a groove again.

Let me give you some cliched ones at first, just for fun. I always find the tried and true gets my going. With that said, I'll throw in some adjectives to maybe put a different spin on them.

Best friends discovering their love for each other. Have to use the setting of a haunted house, work a rose bush into the story, and at some point one of the characters has to say, "It's not like throwing puppies into a lake."

Someone goes to a twentieth high school reunion in their old home town and finds that the perfect person they had crushed on was not as successful as the returning person. Yellow should be the predominant color used, and they should take a ride in a huge Dodge Ram truck.

A one night stand leads to a pregnancy and the woman breaking the news to guy. The guy has to be a male model, utterly gorgeous and breathtaking. Also use the setting of a nursing home, and blackbirds and they have to eat pie.

Have fun!

PS -- I'm a diehard shipper, so all of these, of course, are about finding love.

Anyone who can write a story and integrate the line "It's not like throwing puppies into a lake." seamlessly needs some kind of an award. lol.

Great prompts, btw. I love the details.

Alright- good girl works for guy who she believes is bad. As story progresses, she realizes maybe he's not that bad. Or he is bad but he's also good. Confused yet? She is. They fall in love. His trademark line is "I don't care. You're wasting my time."

Switch it up- bad girl gets in trouble, winds up becoming friends with the cop who arrested her. Despite his best efforts to avoid her and her best efforts to annoy him, they fall in love. He rides a motorcycle and there is a scene where she steals it. Her mother constantly calls her to check on her and the cop inadvertently becomes friendly with the mother (not that kind of friendly ( ... )

I'm really bad at giving prompts so here are a few from the Fictionista workshop that seemed interesting to me. ;)

Your character is an amnesiac. Disoriented and confused, the character wakes up in an unknown house with fine furnishings, in strange clothing, holding an envelope with "DO NOT OPEN" written across the top. What happens next?

Your character finds a box of old photographs in the attic. Who or what is in the photographs? Do the images have personal meaning for your character, or are they someone else's? Do they bring up any particular emotions, thoughts, or memories?

She's the best potioner in the city, or so you've heard. Love potions. Revenge potions. Energizing potions. Baldness potions (giving or curing). So you've come for a potion. The potioner listens to your request, asks a few questions and then with a secret smile and a little laugh says, "I have just what you need." She goes to her workroom in the back and returns in a bit with a bottle. You take it home. What happens next?

Boy meets girl. Boy is tortured by his mother's demand that he become a priest. Boy leaves girl, boy comes back, boy leaves girl again. Boy becomes a priest and is tortured by his decision and spends a decade stalking the girl as she moves on.

Sad, twisted and angst-ridden...
