I just got back from my first massage that wasn't from the students at the college. I went to a... clinic? Centre? Practice? What the hell do you call them, anyway? No advice, but glad to hear the lessons are going well with Champ! Glad to hear poor LIghtning is recovering too. Poor guy.

I think you should show Champ one season, see if he can be purchased (IF that's what you guys want), then bring Lightning out.

You LOVE to show. You have a show horse under you now. Weren't you just lamenting an entry ago about not being able to compete? ;)

Haha! Good point! I guess I was, wasn't I? I was more thinking of eventing, but even just getting into the jumper ring should be enough for now, shouldn't it?

That makes it sound not so bad actually. Try it for a season and see where we're at, eh?

I think mom still ultimately wants to keep him, but if she doesn't, you're also right in that the exposure would be good for him.

Hey, show jumping is one phase of 3DE!

Try it. Just try it! What's the worst that can happen--you like Champ a lot and keep showing him? I think that's kind of awesome! You've got a cool horse that you're having fun with, why stop now?

You're seriously tempting me. I've got two more jumping lessons scheduled this month - we shall see what happens!

My friend thinks we should chute him too (don't say that out loud, LOL), just to see what he's capable of. Could be fun!

Come visit me, I'll hook you up with this guy. I still feel awesome, more than 12 hours later (though freaking tired!). Even my posture is better, my shoulders want to stay back where they're supposed to!

Glad to hear you hate being watched to lol. Let me know what you decided to do with the saddle. I'm still gonna stick to my guns and say leave lightning, and keep champ. Unless you can afford to have them both, then I will gladly hop on the trailer with him and bring him down. You have so much more potential with champ!

LOL, did you not see case in point on Sunday? How awful was that?

Yeah... I don't know what the hell I'm going to do about the saddle. I finally found some prices online, and sadly 1200$ does seem to be fair for a lightly used one. I'm going to talk to her this weekend about it though, and we'll see where we're at.

I definitely need to find a wither riser pad though!

Why not leave Lightning out to pasture to fully recover and keep lessoning off Champ? If you end up showing him, that will only add value when you do sell.
