ah, the double -meanings...

On my way to the bank I saw a bumper sticker on an SUV that entertained me greatly. It said
HAPPINESS is a North-Bound Yankee I agree with the words though given the Confederate flag on the sticker I don't think that the driver and I have the same sentiment there. Not that I would vandalize others' property, but the evil part of me was ( Read more... )

so... i'm going to be in Paris from June 15-20... someone told me that you like, spoke french or something... anyway, I could use a translator if you're looking for a short term job. I can pay in wine and cheese. :)

Oh, France. I would love to go to France. I really miss it. You have to enjoy it for me. (Silly job/money things keeping me from going back!) Since I can't be an in-person translator I'd be happy to do what I can from here :-) (Advance translation if you will...)

Where are you staying/what are you doing when you're there?

If that bumper sticker was on an SUV, the driver must be terribly confused about his/her OWN origins... driving an SUV practically qualifies you as a Yankee - a member of the infamous "coastal (urban) elite". Shouldn't a confederate flag-waving southerner be driving a rusty pickup, kicking up dust and yelling "yee-haaaaaaaawww!"??? What? Who are you calling coastal elite?!?!

And there are circumstances that warrant a little friendly vandalization. :-)
