This summer I've been living in the real world. Getting up for class, working nights, coming home to a boyfriend. I am a news reading, doctor shadowing, bills paying citizen. It leaves very little room for thinking.

I feel dulled. Happy, not giddy, tired not exhausted, anticipating not excited.

This better not be it.

I know we're going to die and
This world's all wrong and
Time's growing older

I know we want to act out but
This path is so slow but
It's what we have

I am nineteen.
There has been constant war since I was born

I need to grow more so I can reach and fully see it
