Mom told me not to set my alarm, because Carley would call her before six if Yonkers was cancelled. I woke up at eight, looked at the clock, and screamed "SNOW DAY!".

Who cares if I'm no longer the student? I was still thrilledKelsey and Alexa heard my shriek and ran into my room. "Scooch ( Read more... )

Part of the problem was that I always believed stuffed animals and dolls were *alive*. I used to talk to them every night, and before I left for trips when I'd give every single one a goodbye kiss.

Aw man, you're so sweet!

Did you ever feel guilty for leaving them behind when you went on a holiday because you were worried they'd feel lonely? I sure did.

Me too! I could never understand why my mom was so insistent that I brought socks rather than, say, an extra stuffed animal on trips.

Then, a few weeks later when they drove out from Indiana to Simon's Rock for my graduation from there, they did an extra five or so hours of driving just to go to Providence.

That is such a cute story! I do like your name for the bear (sounds sort of... well, mysterious), and I bet all the Brown apparel was fun to have at graduation, because you know you've got somewhere else wonderful to go! :D I love college bookstores. When my older siblings went on tours, I'd always ask to be dropped off in the campus store. I learned to judge a school by its textbook selections. Then when I had to go on my own tours, I was most disappointed that we rarely had time to hang out in the bookstores...

I don't think I've ever heard of Freddy the Talking Pig, actually, and I really like children's books. I'll have to see if it's still in stock anywhere. I love that your parents would always buy you pigs -- a very sweet tradition. And I hope your mom remembers for this time. If not, I'll have to send you a Virtual Pig. ;)
