Medical rant

It has been a while, I know, since I've had one of these, but it has been building for some time.

Gynae appointment that has been anticipated (and needed) since they fobbed me off in January has been put back (so don't know how they are going to see whether there is any point in me taking the tablets for another 3 months). As well as that the pain ( Read more... )

Good luck with appointment.....as for them putting appointments back, I know how you feel, maddening isn't it?

What pills do they have you on? If you dont mind me asking?

A few years ago I was put on a course of Zoladex injections (brings on false menopause) the course was meant to last 6 months.....no one kept an eye on the effects of the drug, both physically and mentally, was just kinda left. I had to kick up a right stink for someone to see me.

So, if you need to see a gyne before the appointment they have given you, phone his secretary, make a nuisance of yourself, believe me, it helps.

Hope your pain eases off. Have you thought of a TENS machine? I dont know what the cause of your pain is, but a TENS machine did help me. These days they are so small you can shove the battery pack down your tights and no-one knows its there.

Gah, dont I go on.

Yeah, tried the TENs goodness, and unfortunately it kinda made it worse on some days!!

Cause of pain in currently unknown, which is evil in itself. Gynae put me on the Pill to stop the cycle-related pain I was getting. But didn't tell me if I should stop the tranexemic acid I was taking to lessen the flow, so who knows what is going on!!

I'll chat to GP tonight and see if I can get the number for said secretary there, I'm so angered by it all it'd better get me somewhere!

Good times ahead I feel!!

Ta for the advice like!

If you know the name of the gyne you see, just ring the hospital switch board and sk for his secretary. They will put you through. Also, letters, lots of letters help, bombard them with them. My waiting time has always been decreaed by being a pain in the arse.

I think I was on the T/Acid stuff, a good few years ago now. Mine was for endo. Might be worth looking up the symptoms to see if they sound familiar? Endo affects 1 in 10 of us women, and causes all manner of symptoms, inlcuding heavy bleeding and pain during your cycle.

Not to be the harbinger of doom, but it took them years to diagnose me and caused me all manner of heartache and I hate to see someone else go through that.

Take care

Think I'll be try that tomorrow at break. Letters are the task of the weekend, so hopefully that'll help too.

I've been checked out for endo cos I kept asking and asking. When I had the lap-scopy last May they checked me out and stuff. So unless it has started since May...?? I do keep asking though, taking your experience with me!!
