Ditto. I read the Twilight series because all of my 8th grade girls were reading it and I wanted (yet another) way to engage my students in science. I thoroughly enjoyed the series as a fine example of trashy teem romance novels with vampires thrown in, but wouldn't recommend the series to serious connoisseurs of literature. The Host, also by Stephenie Meyers, was a much better read (though still fluff).
