OMG woman! Do you just have radar for stories being posted! FIVE minutes! That's how long this was up...wow.
Interestingly, this was an insert piece that is just giving backstory info on who is piloting and why... well, the why hasn't yet come out, but it will- promise!
Ooh, there's something sensual beneath all the words here, something... not quite sexual exactly, but deeply intimate, something strong and comfortable, if that makes any sense. And then the contrast of noise against noise somehow working to achieve a flawed kind of silence?
I love Inara almost as much as I do River, but, um, you probably know that already, and I love when people get to examine any connections between her and the ship, and now I'm all giddy because I so want to know how did they get here and what the hell is going on.
*pokes a bit*
I'm so ashamed - when was the last time I gave you first comment?
We all love him, he had a specialness about him. I think his passion for flying invested Serenity with a soul that everyone felt. Well, him and Kaylee's unbounded love, Mal's spirit of survival, Zoe's strength, Jayne's rawness... It made her home...
It has been on my mind for a long time and it was the logical choice. River is not the uber-woman that many see her as and she most definitely cannot be in two places as once. So, they need a pilot and piloting is often more suited to women than men due to exactly that grace that Inara brings to it.
Thank you for noticing the delicateness! It was fun trying to show the harmony of two beautiful birds >:0)

Inara and Serenity are both sensual creatures and trying to explore what I think is a logical connection has interesting potentials.
Flawed silence is it weird that I think of several relationships on Serenity as having that characteristic?

Believe me when I say, no.
